¡Hola Campers!

We’re sure you’re all getting a bit excited (and maybe a little nervous) as camp approaches—especially when it comes to packing!

Costa Rica is all about sunshine, nature, and adventure. But in traditional towns like Heredia—where we’ll be spending most of our time—people tend to dress more modestly than what you might wear at the beach or back home during summer. No need to pack anything fancy, just aim for respectful and comfortable.

Here’s a complete list to help you pack smart and feel prepared for an unforgettable Spanish immersion experience!

👕 Clothing

Please pack modest clothing suitable for a traditional town environment. Think school-appropriate—no crop tops, short shorts, or low-cut styles.

    • 5-7 lightweight short-sleeve tops (no crop tops, spaghetti straps, or low-cut styles)
    • 2-3 pairs of shorts (no short shorts)
    • 2 pairs of lightweight pants
    • 1–2 pairs of athletic pants
    • 1–2 nicer outfits
    • 1–2 swimsuits

    • Pajamas/sleepwear
    • Undergarments and socks
    • Light sweater or hoodie
    • Lightweight, packable rain jacket or poncho
    • Small umbrella (optional)

Laundry will be provided weekly by the homestay family, so you do not need to overpack.
