Volunteer at a Dog & Cat Rescue Shelter

Every Day Makes a Difference

Every rescued dog and cat deserves safety, care, and human connection.

As a volunteer, you’ll become part of the shelter’s daily routine by helping care for animals waiting for a permanent home. Whether you’re walking dogs, feeding animals, cleaning shared spaces, or simply spending time with a nervous rescue, your presence has a direct impact.

You’ll work alongside local staff while experiencing Costa Rican culture beyond the classroom.

Life at the Shelter

Every day at the shelter is different. Some mornings begin by feeding the animals, while others focus on cleaning, enrichment activities, or walking dogs. Volunteers work together with local staff and adjust to the shelter’s priorities each day.

Volunteer at a Dog and Cat Rescue Shelter

Volunteers support a local animal rescue shelter by helping care for dogs and cats, assisting with feeding, cleaning, walking, socialization, basic maintenance, and general shelter support. The day-to-day tasks may vary depending on the shelter’s needs.

This project directly supports the wellbeing of rescued animals while helping shelters manage daily care responsibilities. Volunteers provide attention, comfort, and socialization to animals waiting for adoption, making a real difference in their quality of life.
